![]() ![]() He had a few successful jumps scares and he got good performances out of everybody. The problems were more with the script than with his directing. I was really rooting for him because he’s such a great actor and so overall likeable. I think Patrick Wilson did okay for his first directorial debut. Rose Byrne should have got the divorse ages ago. While he is just happy around expecting you to do everything so he can take his time to brush his teeth without being bored by the kids. So, yeah, if you have a husband like that the the cherry on the top is him trying to kill your family, I get it, he was possessed, but then for the sake of the family he forgets everything and it's not just that you have to deal with the trauma of seing "your husband" trying to kill you and your kids by yourself, you also have to deal with the kids traumas, you're gonna be cautious about signs of another paranormal event happening at home. Him being extra patronizing towards her when she starts to see weird things.Īnd that's just before he got possessed and tried to kill her. When she was feeling scared of what was happening he started this argument saying that he suported her moving to the new place and there was no place for her asking him to also support her (like, dude, maybe you don't believe her but she needs some support). When Dalton was at home in a coma he would just stay at school and not send time with her leaving her alone. He was just announcing last minute weird meetings at work without saying sorry for taking the time from her work.Literally she would be making breakfast and calling the electricity company while he was brushing his teeth. He left her the whole responsability of unpacking.Felt weird that she explained it and she gave that kind of vague explanation because he was a terrible husband besides saving Dalton (which just makes him a good dad): Well, I just rewatched the first 2 movies before watching this one and tbh I was happy she divorced him and had none questions about it. The final painting is a reminder that Josh is a man who would do anything to save his family. And in this last film it shows Josh addressing his trauma and saving dalton from experiencing the same in the future. Josh’s dad killed himself because he didn’t know how to deal with the curse and Josh’s marriage and relationship with his children was severely damaged as as a result of it. While it didn’t hit the mark in terms of a horror film, it was an interesting view on breaking generational curses. When finding out his son was in danger, Josh immediately went to save Dalton while not having any back up (Elise or Carl). Renai even made it seem as if it was his fault, when in reality Josh was in that position because he went to go save Dalton despite knowing he could get possessed. ![]() I did like the painting that Dalton made of him and Josh at the end because everyone was essentially holding the fact that Josh was possessed by the bride in black against him.
